About Us
Locally grounded, globally aware – our motto is at the heart of everything we do here at Beijing World Youth Academy.
Beijing World Youth Academy is a day school for Chinese and foreign students. With the approval of the Beijing Municipal Education Commission, the school was established in 2001. In 2003, being approved by Chaoyang District Education Commission we added a middle school, creating a unified secondary school. In 2014 after approval from the Chaoyang District Education Commission, we also established a primary school, becoming a fully-fledged 12-grade school. Since our establishment in 2001, we have always offered the highest standards of education possible. Today, BWYA brings together over 1000 students and 230 faculty and staff, representing more than 30 nationalities.
“Locally Grounded, Globally Aware”, is the motto of the school. Whilst teaching the Chinese national curriculum, we also draw on international educational concepts, teaching methods and testing standards, as we continuously pursue innovative education. We have achieved remarkable results and become well respected in the wider educational community.
We work hard to create opportunities for students to be involved in society, using their knowledge and skills to solve practical problems, becoming a new generation of smart, dedicated, and caring young men and women, proactive lifelong learners.

As well as this, air purifiers, and full-time specialist school and university counsellors ensure students have a healthy environment around them.

Beijing World Youth Academy strives to provide members of our community excellent learning opportunities that incorporate critical investigation, exposure to different cultural perspectives and assessment against objective criteria.
Our mission is to develop principled, open-minded thinkers who are capable of integrating with diverse international communities and who are empowered to shape their environs for the improvement of quality of life for themselves and others.
