Grade 8 - Qingdao Trip 2024

Qingdao, on the Shandong Peninsula, is a historic maritime fortress. Eighth-grade students explored the Badaguan Scenic Area and International Architecture Complex, showcasing diverse architectural styles from over 20 countries.

Students embarked on an enriching journey to Qingshan Fishing Village, engaging in a treasure hunt, weaving fishing nets, and sampling local delicacies while immersing themselves in the fishermen’s culture. At the February 2nd Farm, they created Shandong steamed buns and explored paper cutting. Their adventure continued with a sand sculpture competition at Jinha Beach, beachcombing, and cycling along the coast, culminating in a visit to the Xihai Art Museum to appreciate the local culture.

The trip also included a visit to the People’s Liberation Army Navy Museum, where students learned about the history and strength of the Chinese Navy. They participated in sailing activities at the Naval Technician College, gaining hands-on experience while understanding the challenges faced by navy personnel.

This journey was filled with stunning landscapes, delicious cuisine, and profound cultural insights, instilling a lasting sense of patriotism and appreciation for their nation’s resilience and stability.
